Missoula Floods in Portland, Oregon
The Missoula Floods were a series of cataclysmic events that occurred during the last ice age and shaped much of the landscape in the Pacific Northwest. This map uses lidar to show many of the large scale features in the Portland area that were sculpted by these immense floods. The map won the Best Cartographic Design award at the 2013 Washington GIS Conference and was included in the Esri Map Book, Volume 28. Made for the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI).
